8-24-88 - This days Ccl session - Mo - Galanter / Woo 1988 - Crenshaw
Redevelopment Plan was adopted by Ccl on 5-9-84 & resulted in
construction of new Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza that is now nearing
completion. For community to obtain full benefits of redevelopment
efforts now underway, there is a need to examine revitalization needs
of area outside existing boundaries of Crenshaw Redevelopment Proj
particularly for Santa Barbara Plaza. THEREFORE MOVE that CRA
initiate appropriate study consistent with requirements of California
Community Redevelopment Law (Health & Safety Code, Sec 33000 et seq),
to examine feasibility of how redevelopment can continue to benefit
Crenshaw area, that this study be conducted in close coordination
with office of 6th Ccl District & include active participation of
citizens from community. FURTHER MOVE that feasibility study be
completed by Agency within 9 months after its initiation (at cost of
approx $150,000 - 150000 dollars) & include specific recs for
consideration by Ccl

Hills Crenshaw Plaza within the CDD Fd 424 from Revenue Source 4449
Program Income - CRA, & approp $384,274 (384274) as stated in Comt
rept.
4. AUTH Controller to expend such funds upon proper demand from GM,
CDD.
