10-11-06 - This day's Council session - Motion - Perry Mover 2006 / Garcetti - The Los Angeles Artists Collective and Little Pedro's Restaurant is sponsoring the "4th Annual L.A. Decom Street Fair" on October 14, 2006, from 12:00 Noon to 12:00 Midnight. Approximately 3,000 people will attend this street fair of art which will include performance art, music and a celebration of creativity.
Council District Nine has received a request that the City provide certain services and declare this function a Special Event. (Event Coordinator: Mark Bava - 831/601-6650 and Fax No. 213/253-0902).
THEREFORE MOVE that the "4th Annual L.A. Decom Street Fair" be declared a Special Event, with the understanding that the event sponsor shall reimburse the City for all fees and costs associated with this event and meet the insurance and application requirements of the City.
FURTHER MOVE that the Event Sponsor be directed to fulfill the insurance requirements of the City by contacting the Bureau of Street Services - Street Use Inspection Division at 213/485-3711 to obtain, and complete, the necessary insurance forms, upon adoption of this Motion by the City Council.
FURTHER MOVE that pursuant to Ordinance No. 150567 relating to temporary street closures, the following streets be closed from 6:00 AM on October 14, 2006, to 4:00 AM on October 15, 2006, subject to the supervision of the Director of the Bureau of Street Services:
* 1st Street between Vignes Street and Santa Fe Avenue
* Santa Fe Avenue between Temple and 2nd Streets
* Banning between Santa Fe and Vignes
* Soft closure at Vignes and Banning
FURTHER MOVE that the Bureau of Street Services be directed to furnish the necessary traffic control devices. These devices will be provided with the understanding that the sponsoring organization will pick up and return them to the Bureau, and remove any debris following this event.
FURTHER MOVE that the Department of Transportation be directed to post "Temporary No Stopping" signs and provide traffic control personnel, if necessary.
FURTHER MOVE that should unforeseen circumstances change the actual date or time of the Special Event, the aforementioned departmental instructions shall continue to apply.

10-18-06 - Council Action - Substitute Motion - Perry Mover 2006 / Reyes - ADOPTED - The Los Angeles Artists Collective and Little Pedro's Restaurant is sponsoring the "4th Annual L.A. Decom Street Fair" on October 14, 2006, from 12:00 Noon to 12:00 Midnight. Approximately 3,000 people will attend this street fair of art which will include performance art, music and a celebration of creativity.

Approval of this request will mean that an estimated $2,500 in fees and salary costs will be absorbed by the City. (Event Coordinator: Mark Bava - 831/601-6650 and Fax No. 213/253-0902).
THEREFORE MOVE that the "4th Annual L.A. Decom Street Fair" be declared a Special Event, and City departments be requested to waive all fees and costs, except insurance and application requirements.
FURTHER MOVE that the Event Sponsor be directed to fulfill the insurance requirements of the City by contacting the Bureau of Street Services - Street Use Inspection Division at 213/485-3711 to obtain, and complete, the necessary insurance forms, upon adoption of this Motion by the City Council.
