Mo - The Cool Schools Program, a pilot project developed by the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) in conjunction with the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (DWP) and four other non profit organizations, represents a new and innovative way to improve campus life for students while protecting the environment. Cool Schools, the City's largest school-based community tree planting program, hopes to plant more than 350 trees on 42 LAUSD campuses in an effort to address the challenges of providing a comfortable working environment for LA's students, lower energy bills due to local area schools, and improve air quality for all residents of the City of Los Angeles.
