Motion - The Los Angeles Garden Club is holding its Blue Star Memorial Plaque Dedication on May 30th, 2007, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Gateway to Hollywood. The City of Los Angeles will be presented its first and only Blue Star marker honoring the nation's Armed Forces from the National Garden Club. Council District Four has received a request that the City provide certain services and declare this function a Special Event.
THEREFORE MOVE that the Blue Star Memorial Plaque Dedication be declared a Special Event, and that City departments be requested to waive all fees and costs, except insurance and application requirements.
FURTHER MOVE that pursuant to Ordinance No. 150567 relating to temporary street closures, the following streets be closed on May 30th, 2007, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM on May 30th, 2007, subject to the supervision of the Director of the Bureau of Street Services:
* On Wilcox Avenue, between Cahuenga Boulevard and Franklin Avenue
FURTHER MOVE that the Bureau of Street Services be directed to furnish the necessary traffic control devices. These devices will be provided with the understanding that the sponsoring organization will pick up and return them to the Bureau, and remove any debris following this event.
FURTHER MOVE that the Department of Transportation be directed to post "Temporary No Stopping'" signs and provide traffic control personnel, if necessary.
FURTHER MOVE that the City Council authorize the Chief Legislative Analyst, or his designee, to make technical corrections or clarifications as may be necessary to implement the intent of this Motion.
FURTHER MOVE that should unforeseen circumstances change the actual date of the Special Event, the aforementioned departmental instructions shall continue to apply.
