Motion - The Van Nuys Blvd Auto-Row Management Corporation, a Property Business Improvement District, is sponsoring its First Annual Millennium Auto Show along Van Nuys Blvd on 10-3-99. The Auto Show will feature classic, antique and Year 2000 models. In addition, there will be food booths, music and celebrity guests. Proceeds from the event will be donated to Keep Youth Doing Something in Van Nuys. Council District 11 has received a request that the City provide certain services and declare the function a Special Event. Approval of this request will mean that an estimated $950 in fees and salary costs will be absorbed by the City. THEREFORE MOVE that the First Annual Millennium Auto Show, sponsored by the Van Nuys Boulevard Auto-Row Management Corporation, be declared a Special Event; and, that all City departments be requested to waive all fees, costs and requirements except insurance. FURTHER MOVE that the Board of Public Works be requested to issue a no-fee banner permit to the event sponsor for the installation of street banners announcing the event. FURTHER MOVE that pursuant to Ordinance No. 150567 relating to temporary street closures: (1) Van Nuys Blvd, between Tiara and Bessemer and (2) Van Nuys Boulevard between Calvert Street and Burbank Boulevard, be closed on Sunday October 3, 1999 during the hours of 12:01 am and 10:00 pm, subject to the supervision of the Director of the Bureau of Street Services. FURTHER MOVE that the Police and Fire Departments be directed to assign personnel, as needed, to ensure the safety of event participants. FURTHER MOVE that the Department of Transportation be directed to post "Temporary No Stopping" signs, furnish the necessary traffic control devices, and provide traffic control personnel, as required. Department of Transportation also be directed to close streets and provide traffic control as required with the understanding that $4,500 of the estimated $9,500 in the Department of Transportation costs will be reimbursed by the Van Nuys Auto Row Management Corporation. FURTHER MOVE that the Department of Transportation be authorized to bill and accept payments from entities representing the Van Nuys Blvd Auto Row and to deposit said payments into Department of Transportation Trust Fund No. 840 and to transfer said payments as needed to Department of Transportation Fund No. 100/.94 and accounts number 1090 (Salaries and Overtime) and 3090 (Field Equipment Expense) as needed. FURTHER MOVE that the event sponsor be authorized to utilize City parking lots #630 amd #603A during the event on October 3, 1999. FURTHER MOVE that should unforeseen circumstances change the actual date of the Special Event, the aforementioned departmental instructions continue to apply

6-27-00 - This days Council session - Motion - Miscikowski Mover 2000 / Pacheco - The Van Nuys Boulevard Auto-Row Management Corporation, a Property Business Improvement District, is sponsoring its 2nd Annual Millennium Auto Show along Van Nuys Boulevard on Sunday, September 24, 2000. The Auto Show will feature classic, antique and Year 2000 models. In addition, there will be food booths, music and celebrity guests. Proceeds from the event will be donated to Keep Youth Doing Something (KYDS) in Van Nuys.
The Office of Council District Eleven has received a request that the City provide certain services and declare the function a Special Event.
THEREFORE MOVE that the Second Annual Millennium Auto Show, sponsored by the Van Nuys Boulevard Auto-Row Management Corporation, be declared a Special Event and that all City departments be requested to waive all fees, costs, and requirements, except insurance.

The Department of Transportation also be directed to close streets and provide traffic control, as required, with the understanding that $4,500 of the estimated $9,500 in Department of Transportation costs will be reimbursed by the Van Nuys Auto Row Management Corporation.

9-13-02 - This days Council session - Motion - Greuel Mover 2002 / Weiss - The Van Nuys Boulevard Auto-Row Management Corporation is sponsoring the "Annual Millenium Auto Show" on October 13, 2002, from 12:00 am to 10:00 am. Classic and antique automobiles will be on display at this event.
Council District Two has received a request that the City provide certain services and declare the function a Special Event. Approval of this request will mean that an estimated $2,308 in fees and salary costs will be absorbed by the City.
THEREFORE MOVE that the "Annual Millennium Auto Show, sponsored by the Van Nuys Boulevard Auto Row Management Corporation, be declared a Special Event and that all City departments be requested to waive all fees, costs, and requirements, except insurance.
FURTHER MOVE that the Event Sponsor be directed to fulfill the insurance requirements of the City by contacting the Bureau of Street - Street Use Inspection Division at (213) 485-3711 to obtain, and complete, the necessary insurance forms, upon adoption of this Motion by the City Council.
FURTHER MOVE that pursuant to Ordinance No. 150567 relating to temporary street closures, the following streets be closed on October 13, 2002, from 12:00 am to 10:00 am, subject to the supervision of the Director of the Bureau of Street Services:
* Van Nuys Boulevard, between Tiara Street and Calvert Street
* Oxnard Street, 500' east and west of Van Nuys Boulevard
FURTHER MOVE that the Bureau of Street Services be directed to furnish the necessary traffic control devices. These devices will be provided with the understanding that the sponsoring organization will pick up and return them to the Bureau, and remove any debris following this event.
FURTHER MOVE that the Department of Transportation be directed to post "Temporary No Stopping" signs and provide traffic control personnel, if necessary.
FURTHER MOVE that should unforeseen circumstances change the actual date of the Special Event, the aforementioned departmental instructions continue to apply.
